Phuket International arrivals: what to expect at HKT
You have booked the resort. The flight lands at Phuket International (HKT). The gap between the jet bridge and your hotel lobby is where holidays often start with friction: long immigration lines, SIM counters, and taxi queues.
After the plane doors open
Most international arrivals follow this path:

SIM cards and Wi-Fi
Carrier kiosks (AIS, True, dtac) sit past immigration. Passport registration is required by law.

Most guests pre-book a private transfer. Official airport taxis use a ticket queue with metered fares; motorway tolls may be extra.

Some itineraries land international and continue on a domestic flight from HKT. Buildings are separate; walking or a short connection applies.
